Hello, Friends! Yes, I am still here, I have not forgotten about any of you or my blog. I took a short break to focus on a couple of things that had recently occurred, and to home in on what I want this blog to become. Although the feedback I have received up to this point has been nothing but spectacular, I wasn't feeling it, but will explain further in another post. Stay tuned :)
Anyway, I wanted to check in with a thought -
Lately I've been reminding myself and some friends in conversation that the most important rule moving forward is: don't get bitter, but always become better.
I've said it before, but it bears repeating today.
It's perfectly fine if:
We didn't accomplish everything we hoped we would in 2021. Only you are responsible for your time and whatever timeline you choose to place on each goal, plan, or priorities you make.
If some of the events around the world got us discouraged and we lost our own way in a momentary line of focus. We can realign by remembering what is profoundly important to us, our priorities, and passions in life. Also remember, nothing is permanent - you have the choice and ability to change things as you please. Maybe we need assistance or the proper tools to carry those changes out, but regardless, nothing is impossible unless you quit trying.
If some people are no longer heading into the new year by our side. Some friends aren't meant to be long-term, while others may only be in our lives to help us through a difficult moment. People grow and change such is life, and we cannot, nor should we want to control them.
All that we felt was like we survived. Like we kept our head just above water day by day. Spoiler alert: your life isn't measured or should be compared by anyone but yourself (and God if that way of life resonates with you). If you are constantly finding yourself in a state of fear of missing out (FOMO), get off social media or away from people who make you feel like your life isn't good enough for anyone but yourself. Rather, find a circle who understands today may not be the best, but you will try again tomorrow. And they never make you feel like a burden rather, you all help each other as buoying life rafts in the ocean.
There are probably a few others to add, but these are the main ones to cover over for now. Maybe one or all of these resonate with you or have throughout the past year. Do you feel negative when you think about it? Please don't.
Now is the perfect time to let go of anything that is not serving the life you want, my friends. Figure out what you need and want every day to be and make it better. Let's not waste our time draining our energies further with regret, disappointments, and misdirected focus. Don't get depressed or bitter, my friends. Let's rise above and always get better each day through redefined habits, intentions, love of life.
You got this.
And I'm right with you 💛
