$100, raise you...a nickel?

Erin

Your closest circle of friends should always have slightly higher standards, morals, and experience than you.

Why?

Because when you get out of sorts in life and start slipping, you need someone on a higher level to pull you back up to where your general standard has been.

Think about it...

If you always hang out with awkwardly annoying pigeons on sidewalks, pecking at scraps people drop, while expecting to still be an eagle, the go-getter of food and graceful soarer amongst the clouds, soon you're going to have a major identity crisis. You're going to turn into a very big eagle, acting pigeon. And while it might be fun for a while, less responsibilities, less emotional dealings and such, your eagle senses are going to start turning bitter and quite angry. Have you ever seen an angry bird attack? It's awesome from a distance, but not if you're it's target. Yeesh, goodnight! 😬

The real question to ask yourself though, is why do you want to be the big bold eagle amongst all of the pigeons? Why not join the other eagles... Sure, there might not be a whole lot of them, but think about the people around you. Would you really consider them your best friends, the people you can truly and honestly rely on for anything, anytime? I bet not. And how do you really feel after hanging out with most of them? I'm betting either drained, negative - maybe even for a few days after, and still lonely, right? Be honest.

The people who seek to raise their level in life might be few and far between, but the awesome thing is, you don't have to make elaborate and super exciting plans to meet up. Throw a dinner date on the calendar app, even if it's a month out, because truth is - they will be just as busy, if not busier than you. It doesn't have to be elaborate or exciting, because they are constantly making big moves crushing everyday life. Simple hangs are where it's at for refueling and encouragement. The other thing is, they will probably be busy with similar things as you, and this makes conversations during dinner more enjoyable and inspiring. Make like a tree, and branch out! Trust me, the other "eagles" will be happy to see others soaring too. And if they aren't well, they have a few trigger points to work out - don't mind that. We are all works in progress, just don't use that as an excuse to stay mediocre with the other "pigeons" around you.

Raise your standard. Raise your vibration. Raise your life. You're worth every penny, nickel and Benjamin. But definitely go for the Benjamins here. Trust me.
